והוה כפנא ביומי דוד תלת שנין שתא בתר שתא ובעא דוד רחמין קדם יי ואמר יי על שאול ועל בית חיבי קטול על דקטל ית גבעונאי:
gbewnay yth dqTl el qTwl khyby byth wel shawl el yy wamr yy qdm rkhmyn dwd wbea shtha bthr shtha shnyn thlth dwd bywmy kpna whwh
There was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year; and David sought the face of Yahweh. Yahweh said, “It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he put the Gibeonites to death.”

וקרא מלכא לגבעונאי ואמר להון וגבעונאי לא מבני ישראל אינון אלהין משאר אמוראי ובני ישראל קימו להון ובעא שאול לקטלותהון בדקני לבני ישראל ויהודה:
wyhwdh yshral lbny bdqny lqTlwthhwn shawl wbea lhwn qymw yshral wbny amwray mshar alhyn aynwn yshral mbny la wgbewnay lhwn wamr lgbewnay mlka wqra
The king called the Gibeonites and said to them (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites, and the children of Israel had sworn to them; and Saul sought to kill them in his zeal for the children of Israel and Judah);

ואמר דוד לגבעונאי מה אעביד לכון ובמה אתכפר ובריכו ית אחסנת עמא דיי:
dyy ema akhsnth yth wbrykw athkpr wbmh lkwn aebyd mh lgbewnay dwd wamr
and David said to the Gibeonites, “What should I do for you? And with what should I make atonement, that you may bless Yahweh’s inheritance?”

ואמרו ליה גבעונאי לית אנחנא צריכין למיסב כסף ודהב מן שאול ומן ביתיה ואף לא אנש למקטל בישראל ואמר מה אתון אמרין אעביד לכון:
lkwn aebyd amryn athwn mh wamr byshral lmqTl ansh la wap bythyh wmn shawl mn wdhb ksp lmysb tsrykyn ankhna lyth gbewnay lyh wamrw
The Gibeonites said to him, “It is no matter of silver or gold between us and Saul or his house; neither is it for us to put any man to death in Israel.” He said, “I will do for you whatever you say.”

ואמרו למלכא גברא דשצינא ודחשב לנא אשתיצינא מלמידר בכל תחום ארעא דישראל:
dyshral area thkhwm bkl mlmydr ashthytsyna lna wdkhshb dshtsyna gbra lmlka wamrw
They said to the king, “The man who consumed us and who plotted against us, that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the borders of Israel,

יתיהבון לנא שבעא גברין מבנוהי ונצלבינון קדם יי בגבעתא דשאול בחירא דיי ואמר מלכא אנא אתן:
athn ana mlka wamr dyy bkhyra dshawl bgbetha yy qdm wntslbynwn mbnwhy gbryn shbea lna ythyhbwn
let seven men of his sons be delivered to us, and we will hang them up to Yahweh in Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of Yahweh.” The king said, “I will give them.”

וחס מלכא על מפיבשת בר יהונתן בר שאול על שבועתא דיי דביניהון בין דוד ובין יהונתן בר שאול:
shawl br yhwnthn wbyn dwd byn dbynyhwn dyy shbwetha el shawl br yhwnthn br mpybshth el mlka wkhs
But the king spared Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of Yahweh’s oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.

ונסיב מלכא ית תרין בני רצפה בת איה דילידת לשאול ית ארמוני וית מפיבשת וית חמשת בני מרב דרביאת מיכל בת שאול דילידת לעדריאל בר ברזילי דממחולות:
dmmkhwlwth brzyly br ledryal dylydth shawl bth mykl drbyath mrb bny khmshth wyth mpybshth wyth armwny yth lshawl dylydth ayh bth rtsph bny thryn yth mlka wnsyb
But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bore to Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Merab the daughter of Saul, whom she bore to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite.

ומתרינון בידא דגבעונאי וצלובינון בטורא קדם יי ונפלו שבעתהון כחדא ואינון אתקטלו ביומי חצדא בקדמאין בשריות חצד סעורין:
sewryn khtsd bshrywth bqdmayn khtsda bywmy athqTlw waynwn kkhda shbethhwn wnplw yy qdm bTwra wtslwbynwn dgbewnay byda wmthrynwn
He delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites; and they hanged them on the mountain before Yahweh, and all seven of them fell together. They were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, at the beginning of barley harvest.

ונסיבת רצפה בת איה ית סקא ופרסתיה לה על טנרא משריות חצדא על דנחתת מטרא עליהון מן שמיא ולא שבקת עופא דשמיא למנח עליהון ביממא וית חיות ברא בליליא:
blylya bra khywth wyth bymma elyhwn lmnkh dshmya ewpa shbqth wla shmya mn elyhwn mTra dnkhthth el khtsda mshrywth Tnra el lh wprsthyh sqa yth ayh bth rtsph wnsybth
Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth and spread it for herself on the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water poured on them from the sky. She allowed neither the birds of the sky to rest on them by day, nor the animals of the field by night.

ואתחוא לדוד ית דעבדית רצפה בת איה לחינתא דשאול:
dshawl lkhyntha ayh bth rtsph debdyth yth ldwd wathkhwa
David was told what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.

ואזל דוד ונסיב ית גרמי שאול וית גרמי יהונתן בריה מלות יתבי יבש גלעד דגנבו יתהון משורא דבית שן דצלבונון תמן פלשתאי ביומא דקטלו פלשתאי ית שאול בגלבוע:
bglbwe shawl yth plshthay dqTlw bywma plshthay thmn dtslbwnwn shn dbyth mshwra ythhwn dgnbw gled ybsh ythby mlwth bryh yhwnthn grmy wyth shawl grmy yth wnsyb dwd wazl
So David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh Gilead, who had stolen them from the street of Beth Shan, where the Philistines had hanged them in the day that the Philistines killed Saul in Gilboa;

ואסיק מתמן ית גרמי שאול וית גרמי יהונתן בריה וכנשו ית גרמי צליביא:
tslybya grmy yth wknshw bryh yhwnthn grmy wyth shawl grmy yth mthmn wasyq
and he brought up from there the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son. They also gathered the bones of those who were hanged.

וקברו ית גרמי שאול ויהונתן בריה בארע שבט בנימין בצלע בקברא דקיש אבוהי ועבדו כל דפקיד מלכא וקביל יי צלותא דדירי ארעא בתר כן:
kn bthr area ddyry tslwtha yy wqbyl mlka dpqyd kl webdw abwhy dqysh bqbra btsle bnymyn shbT bare bryh wyhwnthn shawl grmy yth wqbrw
They buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the country of Benjamin in Zela, in the tomb of Kish his father; and they performed all that the king commanded. After that, God answered prayer for the land.

והות עוד קרבא לפלשתאי עם ישראל ונחת דוד ועבדוהי עמיה ואגיחו קרבא עם פלשתאי ואשתלהי דוד:
dwd washthlhy plshthay em qrba wagykhw emyh webdwhy dwd wnkhth yshral em lplshthay qrba ewd whwth
The Philistines had war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines. David grew faint;

וישבי בנוב די בבני גברא ומתקל סופיניה מתקל תלת מאה סלעין דנחשא הוא אסיר אספנקי חדתא ואמר למקטל ית דוד:
dwd yth lmqTl wamr khdtha aspnqy asyr hwa dnkhsha sleyn mah thlth mthql swpynyh wmthql gbra bbny dy bnwb wyshby
and Ishbibenob, who was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear was three hundred shekels of bronze in weight, he being armed with a new sword, thought he would kill David.

וסעיד ליה אבישי בר צרויה ומחא ית פלשתאה וקטליה בכן קיימו גברי דוד ליה למימר לא תפוק עוד עמנא לקרבא ולא תיטפי ית מלכותא דישראל:
dyshral mlkwtha yth thyTpy wla lqrba emna ewd thpwq la lmymr lyh dwd gbry qyymw bkn wqTlyh plshthah yth wmkha tsrwyh br abyshy lyh wseyd
But Abishai the son of Zeruiah helped him, and struck the Philistine and killed him. Then the men of David swore to him, saying, “Don’t go out with us to battle any more, so that you don’t quench the lamp of Israel.”

והוה בתר כן והות עוד קרבא בגוב עם פלשתאי בכן קטל סבכי דמן חושת ית סף דבבני גברא:
gbra dbbny sp yth khwshth dmn sbky qTl bkn plshthay em bgwb qrba ewd whwth kn bthr whwh
After this, there was again war with the Philistines at Gob. Then Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Saph, who was of the sons of the giant.

והות עוד קרבא בגוב עם פלשתאי וקטל דוד בר ישי מחי פרוכת בית מקדשא דמבית לחם ית גלית גתאה ואעא דמורניתיה כאכסן דגרדאין:
dgrdayn kaksn dmwrnythyh waea gthah glyth yth lkhm dmbyth mqdsha byth prwkth mkhy yshy br dwd wqTl plshthay em bgwb qrba ewd whwth
There was again war with the Philistines at Gob, and Elhanan the son of Jaare-Oregim the Bethlehemite killed Goliath the Gittite’s brother, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.

והות עוד קרבא בגת והוה גבר דמשחן ואצבעת ידוהי ואצבעת רגלוהי שית ושית עשרין וארבע במנין ואף הוא אתיליד בגברא:
bgbra athylyd hwa wap bmnyn warbe eshryn wshyth shyth rglwhy watsbeth ydwhy watsbeth dmshkhn gbr whwh bgth qrba ewd whwth
There was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on every hand and six toes on every foot, twenty-four in number, and he also was born to the giant.

וחסיד ית ישראל וקטליה יהונתן בר שמעה אחוהי דדוד:
ddwd akhwhy shmeh br yhwnthn wqTlyh yshral yth wkhsyd
When he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimei, David’s brother, killed him.
